DCP has a good reputation in handling various prestige projects of steel structure, this time DCP was trusted to handle the construction work in installation of structural steel roof truss for architectural projects and structure of Kualanamu New Medan Airport terminal building. DCP involved in implementing this project since March 6, 2009 and officially have processed the first handover of the work on 2 June 2010.
The implementation work was divided into 2 zones for the piers and terminals which are conducted simultaneously. “Formerly our ability was doubted by the consultant planner because of our status as domestic company. The most difficulty was given by the wide expanse of girder beams and roof arches which is form the waves without a crutch in the middle. But It didn’t make any problems, because actually erection and assembly trial can be accommodated by process technology simulation such as CAD / CAM 3D Structure, TEKLA Software, and SAP 2000 software for cross “said Ir. In the handling of Kualanamu roof truss architecture construction work, all were using ASTM A 36 / S 400/ST-37 steel material with a total volume about 5,000 tons of steel material. Profile which is widely used is ‘T-beam’, both were rolled or formed Truss beam. In peak condition, the process of fabrication and erection work were involving about 300 workers. This Kualanamu Airport Projects can be completed on schedule timely.
